Coaching and Practitioner Work for Gifted Adults

I was identified as gifted at age four when I wouldn't stop asking questions and started making connections that surprised the adults around me. From ages five to thirteen, I attended a gifted and talented school and I felt almost supernaturally alive there. I was stimulated, challenged, and met. It felt effortless in the best possible way.

When that environment ended, I spent years wondering why everything suddenly felt so hard.

High school and college brought a kind of quiet grief I didn't have language for. The ease was gone. I was a square peg grinding myself against round holes, accumulating shame and self-doubt I didn't know how to name. I assumed this was just what growing up felt like. That the aliveness I remembered felt like something I'd lost for good.

I did what people expected me to do: I pursued an ambitious path and landed a job that impressed others. What shocked me was how hollow it felt. So I walked away and started over, much to the surprise of everyone in my life.

Feeling lost without a clue what my next steps would be, I rediscovered my giftedness.

Every word I read on the subject landed differently than anything else I'd encountered. For the first time I wasn't trying to smooth out my differences to fit a mold. I was learning to see them as the very things that made me who I am. Identifying myself as neurodivergent gave me permission to stop outsourcing my wisdom to external sources and start listening to my own internal wisdom.

For the last five years I've spoken about giftedness in person and online, building community with people wired like me. What I kept noticing was a stunning lack of resources designed specifically for gifted adults. No one to validate that the differences were real. No one to help translate them into a life that actually fits.

That's what I do now.

I didn't have anyone to hold a mirror up to my giftedness and help me find my way. Now I get to be that person for my clients!
